Vol. 1.0.

We arrived...

When I ask people if they ever been to the Philippines, almost all who did will say, its an amazing country with amazing beaches and really nice people. But what if I ask you about other than beaches and people?

Well...different story.

A little bit of background: not so recently I met the guy of my life somewhere in Asia I never expected to find THE ONE. Any way long story short: we moved together and started our life. Not so long after, our little precious baby arrived and about the same time, my SO (lets call him Jude) got the opportunity of a lifetime: a dream job IN THE PHILIPPINES. So we decided to move with a 3 months old baby. And guess what...living here is not only about beaches and people...

In mid 2016 our plane landed in Manila NAIA. After a very long trip, both Babyboo and me were quite exhausted. But Jude was supposed to wait for us so I only felt the joy of arrival, nothing left from the 16 hours flight struggle.

Since I decided to stay home for a while to take care of Babyboo, we wanted a nice, quiet, child-friendly place to live in. After long talks and numerous debates, we agreed not to rent a place in Manila (anyway, Jude is supposed to work in South Luzon) but a little bit on the south, not so far from the beautiful hill sight of Tagaytay. Air is super, sometimes even to be called cool. No noise, no awful traffic. Well not every day at least. Awesome gated communities with very nice people, and surprisingly many foreigners. Well, unfortunately not my type of stylish active young parents with kids...but the usual 50+ dudes with gorgeous Filipina wives. Kids? Not so many. Social life? Nil. But still, the place if beautiful, birds singing in the morning, spacious, chill, perfect for kids to grow up...

After 5 months of living here I figured I will write down my stories about every day living topics such as politics, safety, shopping, raising a baby, commuting, domestic helpers (I have hilarious stories in such a short time), managing daily administrative issues, being a wife of a Filipino (since I am from Eastern Europe with generally light features, we are still kind of one of a kind couple here), food and healthy lifestyle, price of living, culture, etc...

If you ask in a comment, I am also happily willing to elaborate other topics (if I know the answer for your questions...).

Ohh and please:  Let's be easy on each other. This is not a guide book, not an official site for foreigners to get all information they need to live here...my personal stories are not for judgment but aiming to entertain you. If you don't like it, you can close the window any time.

Spread the love,

A Hungarian Filipina
